Some Questions & Answers
DPC is a membership-based model where patients pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited access to their doctor, without the hassle of insurance
or other hidden costs.
Yes. DPC covers your child’s primary care, but insurance is still needed for vaccines, medications, imaging, laboratory tests,
hospitalizations, surgeries, specialist care, and other needs not covered in your membership. Many patients choose to pair a DPC membership with a high-deductible or catastrophic insurance plan.
Most routine and preventative primary care services, same-day or next-day visits, annual check-ups, chronic disease management, and direct access to your child’s doctor through phone, text, or video.
We will coordinate your child’s care, provide referrals, and continue to support you, but hospital or specialist bills are separate from your child’s DPC membership.
You can reach out by phone, text, email, or video— whatever is preferable to you. Because we limit the number of patients in the practice, we
are able to respond quickly and give you the time you need.
Even if your child is generally healthy, DPC gives you peace of mind, easy access to your child’s doctor when needed, comprehensive preventative care to keep your child healthy, and better communications with other doctors involved in your child’s care.
There is no long-term commitment, but we do require a minimum of 3 months of membership to avoid increasing the cost of care by patients who jump in and out of memberships to get care only when needed.
For patients that a full DPC membership is not desired or affordable, we do offer pay-as-you-go appointments to manage specific concerns or conditions with a higher degree of attention and experience than may be available in your usual primary care office. We are happy to coordinate our recommendations and care directly with your child’s primary care doctor just as we would with a specialist or hospital doctor.
Both DPC and concierge medicine focus on personalized care and easy access, but DPC is usually much more affordable. Concierge practices often still bill insurance in addition to higher membership fees, while DPC replaces the insurance billing altogether with one simple membership.
